Campus Involvement
Society of Peer Mentors
I have conducted interviews for potential new members to help them prepare for potential internship interviews. I've attended leadership workshops and retreats in order to enhance these skills in school and my future career.
I have worked with K-12 students, by demonstrating creative, innovative technology based activities and encouraging them explore a future in STEM based jobs. I've worked with the FIRST Lego League by judging and setting up for robotics competitions. I was a team lead for Geaux Engineering a bridge program to help incoming engineering freshman adjust to college life through group activities, panels, and an industry lunch.
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Alpha Theta is a sorority founded to help support women through college and professional life. Throughout the semester we host events such as study nights and sisterhood bonding. Additionally, we raise money to help support Court Appointed Special Advocates so that foster children can have better representation during their court hearings.
During my time in this organization I was appointed as the Vice President of Education. For this role, I reviewed organization member’s grades and meet with members who need academic development. I help members with different LSU policies and ensure no members miss important university deadlines.
I manage education focus groups such as academic development directors and new member education. I work with other officers to facilitate sorority events such as study nights and events to celebrate new members. I was a member of the Risk Management Team too ensure the safety of all members before, during, and after all events.
In 2021, I designed out homecoming board. Each year the sororities and fraternities on campus are paired up to make a “pomp” homecoming board. Members roll up tissue paper and create boards to display that year’s theme. That year our theme was “There’s no Place like Homecoming” and we won third place overall.
Society of Women Engineers
The Society of Women Engineers is a organization to help female engineering students during and after college. At LSU our chapter hosts weekly meetings where we meet with different company representatives to help develop our resume and interview skills. This semester I had the opportunity to go to SWE National Convention where I was able to attend workshops and a career fair.
Community Council
Community Council is a part of LSU’s Residential Hall Association. Community Council is responsible to for planning events through for our residence hall to encourage students to make friends in their dorm. As a group we planned events like reverse trick or treating and away game watch parties. We also advocated to get more games for students to be able to check out at the front desk.
I held position of Advertising Chair so I was in charge of making advertisements for upcoming events and taking photos during events.
